Il peut compter jusqu\u2019\u00e0 100 sans h\u00e9siter. Pourtant, face \u00e0 8 + 7, il bloque. Il recompte sur ses doigts. Il h\u00e9site. Il se perd.<\/p>\n<p>Le probl\u00e8me n\u2019est pas le calcul. Le probl\u00e8me est plus profond : il ne voit pas le nombre.<\/p>\n<p>Le v\u00e9ritable apprentissage des math\u00e9matiques ne commence pas par les op\u00e9rations. Il commence par le <strong>sens du nombre<\/strong>. C\u2019est m\u00eame une \u00e9tape indispensable au d\u00e9but. Mais si l\u2019enfant reste bloqu\u00e9 \u00e0 ce stade, le comptage devient une limite.<\/p>\n<p>Compter mobilise fortement la m\u00e9moire de travail. L\u2019enfant doit garder en t\u00eate le dernier nombre prononc\u00e9, ajouter un, suivre la s\u00e9quence, \u00e9viter les erreurs. Toute son attention est absorb\u00e9e par la r\u00e9citation.<\/p>\n<p>Comprendre un nombre, en revanche, consiste \u00e0 le voir comme une structure. Voir 8 comme 5 + 3. Voir 9 comme 10 &#8211; 1. Voir 14 comme 10 + 4.<\/p>\n<p>Cette structuration lib\u00e8re le cerveau. Elle r\u00e9duit la charge cognitive. Elle transforme le calcul en manipulation mentale fluide.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pourquoi_5_est_un_repere_naturel\"><\/span>Pourquoi 5 est un rep\u00e8re naturel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>La main humaine comporte cinq doigts. Cette r\u00e9alit\u00e9 biologique n\u2019est pas anodine. Tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t, l\u2019enfant associe les quantit\u00e9s aux doigts. Le groupe de cinq devient une unit\u00e9 perceptive stable.<\/p>\n<p>Les recherches en cognition montrent que le cerveau reconna\u00eet imm\u00e9diatement de petites quantit\u00e9s sans compter. Ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne, appel\u00e9 reconnaissance imm\u00e9diate des quantit\u00e9s, fonctionne particuli\u00e8rement bien lorsque les \u00e9l\u00e9ments sont organis\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re structur\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Un groupe de cinq organis\u00e9 visuellement est per\u00e7u d\u2019un seul coup d\u2019\u0153il. Il n\u2019est pas recompt\u00e9. Il est reconnu.<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est cette reconnaissance qui constitue la base d\u2019un apprentissage solide.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pourquoi_10_structure_tout_le_systeme\"><\/span>Pourquoi 10 structure tout le syst\u00e8me<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Le syst\u00e8me de num\u00e9ration utilis\u00e9 quotidiennement est d\u00e9cimal. Cela signifie qu\u2019il repose sur des regroupements par dix.<\/p>\n<p>Si l\u2019enfant ne comprend pas profond\u00e9ment que 10 est compos\u00e9 de deux groupes de 5, ou de 8 + 2, ou de 6 + 4, alors le passage aux dizaines devient artificiel.<\/p>\n<p>Le compl\u00e9ment \u00e0 10 est l\u2019une des comp\u00e9tences les plus puissantes en math\u00e9matiques \u00e9l\u00e9mentaires. Il permet :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>le passage \u00e0 la dizaine sup\u00e9rieure ;<\/li>\n<li>l\u2019addition mentale rapide ;<\/li>\n<li>la compr\u00e9hension des retenues ;<\/li>\n<li>la d\u00e9composition flexible des nombres.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Un enfant qui sait imm\u00e9diatement que 7 a besoin de 3 pour faire 10 poss\u00e8de une base mentale extr\u00eamement solide.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"La_decomposition_le_coeur_de_la_comprehension\"><\/span>La d\u00e9composition : le c\u0153ur de la compr\u00e9hension<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Un nombre n\u2019est pas un bloc fig\u00e9. Il est compos\u00e9. Il peut \u00eatre d\u00e9compos\u00e9 de multiples fa\u00e7ons.<\/p>\n<p>8 peut \u00eatre :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5 + 3<\/li>\n<li>4 + 4<\/li>\n<li>6 + 2<\/li>\n<li>10 &#8211; 2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Plus l\u2019enfant explore ces d\u00e9compositions, plus il d\u00e9veloppe une flexibilit\u00e9 mentale. Cette flexibilit\u00e9 est la base du calcul mental avanc\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Sans d\u00e9composition, l\u2019enfant reste d\u00e9pendant de proc\u00e9dures m\u00e9caniques.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"La_manipulation_une_etape_indispensable\"><\/span>La manipulation : une \u00e9tape indispensable<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Le cerveau apprend mieux lorsqu\u2019il associe action, perception et r\u00e9flexion. Manipuler des objets concrets permet d\u2019ancrer les concepts abstraits.<\/p>\n<p>Lorsque l\u2019enfant d\u00e9place physiquement des \u00e9l\u00e9ments regroup\u00e9s en 5 et 10, il ne fait pas qu\u2019ex\u00e9cuter un geste. Il construit une repr\u00e9sentation mentale stable.<\/p>\n<p>Progressivement, la manipulation devient int\u00e9rieure. Les regroupements sont visualis\u00e9s sans support mat\u00e9riel.
